I love the tool of the match 🔥. Candles are one of my favorite ritual tools, so the same goes for the tools that light them.

Lighters, while totally dependable... can sometimes feel “not quite right” for ritual actions with their materials and other associations.

While matchbooks are little recruitable companions packed with the accessible power of multiple elements. Fire. Wood. Air as your breath extinguishes the flame.

They also can carry messages, too. I felt a little opportunity here, in the moment you see and pick up your matches to ignite, invoke, open to, or drop in.

I wanted to share a reminder of something we already know... that this flame wields intent.
