Dr. Jess Linick,
Event Facilitator
Somatic Psychologist

Jess Linick, PhD, SEP, is a clinical psychologist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner®, and lifelong dancer. Since beginning dance classes at the age of 5, Jess has immersed herself a variety of styles (e.g., ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, salsa, modern, contemporary), all the while aware of the basic undercurrent in them all – the ability of the body to express through movement what words cannot.

Since 2011, Jess has taken her love of movement to the pole, and after taking her first FYF class in 2012, immediately felt at home, relishing in the opportunity to move as she wanted to move, free from the binds of traditional dance classes. To Jess, freestyle movement is more than just “dancing”– it is a way of being in the world, of interacting with space and time; a way of living. Unencumbered, open, and vulnerable, we are invited to harness intuition, follow our inner compass, and express ourselves in ways that ring true for us most clearly.

In 2014, Jess and Tracee co-created Pole Speak, an improvisational-based pole dance company, and in 2017, she joined the Finding Your Freestyle team. Jess brings her training as a clinical psychologist directly into this work, combining her knowledge of mind-body integration with the FYF movement practices. Sessions utilize meditation, breathwork, and other somatic practices to assist participants in fostering a better connection with their bodies, unlocking any “stuck” patterns, and moving through anything that may be holding them back. With a long-time meditation and mindfulness practice, Jess is also a Reiki practitioner, registered yoga teacher, and sound practitioner.

Jess currently resides in New York City, where she specializes in body-oriented psychotherapy, meditation, and mindfulness practices. She received her PhD from Columbia University, and currently focuses on the provision of trauma-informed psychotherapy within the juvenile justice system.

Laure Porcé,
Event Facilitator
Healing Arts

Laure is a former performer whose love of exploring humanity has found a new way of expressing itself in her work as a therapist and healer. Fascinated by the many ways in which body, mind and emotions can be harmonized, she is also interested by how the different fields of consciousness (ancestral, collective, etc.) interact with each other and influence our choices and our inner states.

Her journey with systemic and family constellations began five years ago in Seattle, with teacher Francesca Mason Boring. For the last two years she and Tracee have been experimenting integrating the practice of constellation (a modality that allows you to step into someone or something else’s experience of life) with FYF’s unique approach to movement and self-exploration, with profound results.

She accompanies others in their healing and evolution process, like a gardener creating the right environment for plants to grow. She loves helping to uncover the treasures of resilience that every person has, whether in their body or in their souls.

Vanessa Marquez,
Online Facilitator
Alignment Strategist

Vanessa loves pursuing creative ways of self-expression. While in her hometown, Caracas, Venezuela, she dabbled in dancing, theater, and improv. She tabled her creative pursuits to focus on her academic career when she moved to the United States. She worked in the hospitality industry for four years but realized she was not fulfilled.

She discovered her passion for pole dancing in 2016. Pole dance was a way to reconnect with her artistic side, but it ended up meaning much more. Pole dance became her safe space at a time where she was not comfortable with anything in her life, including the way her body looked. She felt more confident, sexy and true to herself at every size through her (re)discovery journey.

Vanessa is also passionate about all aspects of human behavior and how the mind works. Her journey led her to build a space for transformation, uniting coaching, the power of experience, and creative practices.

Her workshops use movement therapy, mindfulness, and dance. Her goal is to help individuals embrace their sensuality and stop looking for validation from others. Through working with Vanessa, clients can expect a rekindling of their curiosity, gaining clarity on their goals and building confidence in following their life’s vision. It is time to fee free and start living life on our own terms!

Thriving is the result of a sensuality-driven life.  We often hear the term sensuality as used to refer to our sexual side. However, when we expand the concept of sensuality we realize that it pertains to everything. Using our senses to move away from survival mode and create a pleasurable life is the utmost definition of thriving.

Embracing our sensuality unlocks our authentic self!

A fun, judgement free environment in which we will explore a variety of prompts that will allow us to reflect and embody our emotions as we reconnect with our sensual nature and align with our higher self
